Most people are likely not used to the word Vignette when it comes to interior design.
A Vignette is known to be a brief, descriptive passage that captures a moment in time. Well, in the design world, it's a small grouping of decorative items that can add interest to any room. They can be functional, decorative or even better, BOTH!

Creating a vignette gives the eye a moment to settle on something that is interesting. For example, a foyer vignette can look like pairing a console, a mirror, and a lamp with matching accessories to bring a design element to an empty feeling space.
Many home owners like to have an area upon entry where people can place car or house keys, think of this as an area to spruce up with a decorative box - this is now both functional, and inviting.
You can even add to a laundry room to give a little interest and function! By grouping
containers with detergents alongside a decorative basket for pet essentials can make this typical household chore look a little better!

While most of the time this works for permanent decor, vignettes can also be used for dinner parties as a way to welcome guests to your space!
In just about any room, you can add accessories to make a space look more pulled together and rearrange furniture to make a cozy little seating area to make something a bit more intimate. Think two friends sharing coffee or a chat!
